Family run since 1967 Eleri (Daughter in law to Audrey Snowdon-Jones) is in charge of the day to day food preparation whilst Simon (Audreys son) is chiefly responsible for front of house.

Both always on hand to offer you a warm welcome, take your coat, and make you feel at home.

A 'Bill of Fare' is presented to satisfy most tastes along with a well stocked bar and comprehensive selection of fine wines to ensure satisfaction to all who call at this fully licensed Inn.

Simon ensures that an excellent choice of bottled and draught beers, spirits, soft and non alcoholic drinks are available at all times.

Local Information

Much of our local hamlet of 'Melin-y-Wern' (The Mill on the Alder Marsh) owes its origins to the Water Mill (built circa 1805 and still with its wheel in place) at the heart of our community today.

Records indicate that milling by water wheel has taken place on this site for over four hundred years.

The old Stables are now lovely self contained cottages, from one to two bedrooms

Perfect for that week or weekend away.

Situated on the very edge of the Clwydian hills official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the Offas' Dyke long distance footpath, Melin-y-Wern is an excellent location to commence a day's hill walking.

Looking for that perfect place for a quiet table for 2 or a family function?

Here at The Cherry Pie Inn we have a large bar area and 2 dining rooms.

The bar area has 7 tables in but can hold 24 people for a private function.

We Have 2 Dining rooms the first had 4 tables in - or a room for 11 people

And the second dining room has 6 tables in or a room for 16 people.

For larger functions we accomodate 60 persons throughout the Wine Bar and our two Restaurant Dining Rooms.
